Natalie Browning

Cello

Natalie Browning is a multifaceted cellist and chamber musician. She made her solo debut at age 22 with the Vidin Sinfonietta in Bulgaria, and she has performed as a guest with the Sinfonietta Polonia on their tour of the Greater Poland Area. She was the featured soloist for the United States premiere of Mongolian Boots, II: Steeds at the 2020 ACDA Western Division Conference, and she was the featured cellist for the world premiere of the pre-Broadway musical “Fly More Than You Fall,” starring Sony-signed artist Lexi Walker.

Natalie has performed and recorded with a variety of groups and musicians, including singer/songwriter Cassie Clarke Lee, the Solstice Singers, the Brigham Young University Opera, and Utah Valley University’s jazz band and percussion ensemble. She has led numerous masterclasses and workshops, served as the cello section coach at Campo Verde High School, and adjudicated for the Salt Lake City Suzuki Cello Federation. She has also appeared as faculty at the Lyceum and Mountain Springs music festivals, the latter of which she also serves as a board member for.

Natalie is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree with an emphasis in Cello Performance at Arizona State University, where she studies with Tom Landschoot and received her Master of Music degree in the same area. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance at Utah Valley University, studying with Cheung Chau, where she was awarded the Department of Music’s Award of Merit in Music Performance. During her studies at Utah Valley University, she served as principal cellist of UVU’s symphony and chamber orchestras, and while at Arizona State University, she has served as principal cellist of ASU’s Chamber Orchestra. She has been invited to perform in solo masterclasses with numerous internationally renowned musicians, including cellist Yeesun Kim and Johannes Moser, as well as having performed in chamber masterclasses for Trio Zimbalist, and the Brooklyn Rider, Borromeo, and St. Lawrence string quartets.


Natalie teaches in-person lessons in Eagle Mountain, Utah. She also offers online lessons for students who prefer to meet virtually.
